We had a stellar album launch on Sunday 7th June at The Vortex. Thanks to all who came to support us!
We’ll be continuing #LUMEOnTour next week with gigs at The Blessington, Derby (promoted by Corey Mwamba) on Monday 15th and Dempsey’s, Cardiff on Tuesday 16th.
See you there!
We’re thrilled to be doing a nine date tour to launch our album in May/June this year! This will be no ordinary tour either, as we’ll be joined by the amazing Quadraceratops under the banner of LUME – the original/improvised night I run together with Cath Roberts! Here are the dates:
26th May @ SPOTTED DOG, Birmingham
27th May @ LESCAR, Sheffield
29th May @ FUSEBOX, Leeds
31st May @ JAZZ NORTH EAST, Newcastle
1st June @ FREEDOM PRINCIPLE, Manchester
5th June @ BEBOP CLUB, Bristol
7th June @ VORTEX, Dalston
15th June @ FRIENDS MEETING HOUSE, Derby
16th June @ DEMPSEY’S, Cardiff
The year is drawing to a close and it’s been an eventful one for Entropi with a packed out gig at Pizza Express (part of the ‘Xantone Blacq Presents’ series), being awarded the Jazz Services Recording Support Grant, recording our debut album at Fish Factory Studios, launching a successful Kickstarter campaign and playing to a full house at LUME for the EFG London Jazz Festival – read our great review HERE.
We’re looking forward to an exciting year in 2015 when we release our album on the ‘F-IRE Presents’ label, with album launch planned for June 7th at the Vortex with ‘LUME Presents…’ and plans for an ambitious UK double-bill tour! More on that soon.
Meanwhile, have a great Christmas!
This photo shows mockups of album artwork by Ricky Day. CD goes to press in mid January.
After a hugely eventful six months the dust is beginning to settle. Defining moments were: playing to a great crowd at Pizza Express Dean Street on April 1st; being chosen as one of the artists for the prestigious Jazz Services Recording Support Scheme; recording and mixing our debut album over three days at the Fish Factory Studios; launching a successful Kickstarter campaign and finally being signed to the F-IRE label for a release next Spring.
Not only am I excited by the music on the album, but also the accompanying artwork (being currently worked on by Ricky Day) which will complement the compositions and general direction of the album. We met for a drink last week and I was so happy with the ideas and drawings that Ricky came up with. See photo below for a sneak preview!
Watch this space for news of album launch, accompanying tour…. and of course lots of cool artwork!
What an amazing feeling!! Our Kickstarter is successfully funded with £201 over the target!! Thanks to all who supported the project!!
I’m pleased to announce that the album will be released on the F-IRE label in March 2015.
Great news! We have reached over half way towards funding our debut album!
Please spread the word and pre-purchase an album if you haven’t already done so : )
